Dave Archer is a folk, blues and jazz guitarist/composer who grew up in Somerset. As a child he would sit in on his fathers blues bands rehearsing and this was an early influence on his playing. Aged 16 – 17 Dave went to see guitarists Jim Mullen and John Etheridge and this started his love for jazz.
Dave Studied a BA in Music Composition at Dartington College of Arts and had tuition in jazz, classical and flamenco guitar. He worked on new compositions and performed in various music projects. After three years at Dartington Dave moved to Bristol where he is now living as a guitarist, composer and teacher active on the music scene playing with many bands including Sheelanagig, Cut Collective, Monshai, Milon, Pete Roe, Well Mannered Monty and the Gin Soaked Boys, Al Fresco Trio, James Ladd, Mamadou Cissokho and Cazimi.
